Hazel Storms Home as Stratford Lib Dems Fight Back!

Hazel Wright wins the Studley with Sambourne by-election with over 55% of the vote!

The Lib Dem fightback is in action as local voters reject Conservatives taking them for granted.

Five candidates contested the Studley with Sambourne District ward by-election on 25 February 2016.

The result is:

Paul Anthony Beaman (Conservative)    233 votes
Nick Moon (Independent)                      66 votes
Nigel Thomas Rogers   (UKIP)              55 votes
Karen Somner-Brown (Labour)              156 votes
Hazel Dawn Wright (Liberal Democrat) 632 votes Elected

Turnout was 39.5% - which in itself was remarkably high for a by-election

Hazel polled over 55% of the votes cast (& almost 22% of the total electorate) and 122 more votes than the combined totals of all the other candidates

Over 50 volunteers helped throughout the campaign. It was a great atmosphere and everyone is in good spirits about continuing the fight to our important EU and Police & Crime Commissioner campaigns.

A great result, with a great candidate and a great support team. Leader of the party, Tim Farron has also sent his congratulations to Hazel for her fantastic result.
