Elizabeth Demands Restoration of Access to Justice

Elizabeth gave an impassioned speech at Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference, in favour of proposals to save and restore access to justice.

She spoke in support of Motion F23 Restoring Access to Justice, which calls for an urgent review into the effect of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act to examine its costs and benefits and its impact on access to justice.

It also calls for a number of other measures to ensure those in need are not prevented from seeking justice, such as simpler procedures for legal aid in domestic violence cases and legal aid to be available to children and vulnerable young people.

The full motion can be viewed HERE.
